PAN-O-PLY periodically embarks on a project to engage community participation in artistic communication. We believe the connection between people can be further strengthened through sharing ideas and respectful thought. We are publishing the Summer 2022 Project PAN-O-PLY Community Imagination Book.
The book is our first adventure into a print piece of work.
We invite you to create and add your voice to this book. The pages contain prompts to draw, write, share memories and ideas. Included with this book is a set of colored pencils to help you create within this book of imagination. We invite all voices and talent levels to participate. We want to see the creativity of Michiana. PAN-O-PLY printed 10 of these Community Imagination books and has placed them around Michiana. We will gather them as they are completed or at the end of the summer.
You can find the books and participate by following our Facebook page @panoplymichiana.
Then in October we will show some of the books at the Chesterton Art Center exhibition "Mark My Words." "Mark My Words" is a visual exploration of language and how it interfaces with and shapes contemporary material culture and social concerns. The exhibit will feature an installation of letterpress posters by Detroit artist Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr. and the works of regional and Chicago-based artists who create zines, comics, self-published works, chapbooks, letterpress works, pins, patches, hand-pulled prints and/or hand-lettered signs. There will also be a Pop-Up Shop opportunity for participating artists.” chestertonart.org.
