August Poet of the Month Carol Estes
Carol Estes is a Missouri girl that found her way to Indiana in 1982.
After several losses, she found herself in need of an outlet for deep grief. One day, watching her
birds, a small camera in hand, she started on a journey. Immersing in the knowledge, she became a
self-taught photographer.
She was published in Birds and Bloom Magazine about the journey of her strength over grief. Later,
they published her bird photography, and she has been internationally published with her beauty and
fashion work.
Entering the Art World late in life, Carol has been fortunate to exhibit in Michigan, Missouri, Illinois,
and Indiana. She is also a writer of poetry and prose, performing on stage at the Green Mill in
Chicago. In 2016, atself-published her first book, “Memories Evoked: The Batter Bowl to the
