February 2021 Note from the Editor

Letter from the Editor

I hope your life is filled with peace like a weaver’s shuttle forming a beautiful tapestry in this new year. I pray your experience of ’20 has given your rich and durable yarn which weft and warp to lift your spirit and those around you. If 2020 taught us anything, it may be appreciating family and the value of home. I hope we recognize in ourselves a greater tolerance. I hope we have learned to care for each other more.

Welcome to the 2021 winter release of PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana. I am excited to present our new format as a flip book magazine. (If reading this on the PAN-O-PLY website follow this link PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana New Winter Febuary 2021 by Dan Breen - Flipsnack .)

At the beginning of the year, I had a surprise two weeks off. It was too cold to hike, and little to do for home projects. I began to play around with flipbook sites to present PAN-O-PLY in a new way. The flipbook brings the vision of PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana closer to what I imagined the magazine originally. I hope through the new format we will be able to reach more readers and show the tremendous talent in Michiana. I hope you find the format enjoyable. We will continue to keep our website and Facebook (@panoplymichiana) page updated with new artists and poets every month. We will keep longer articles on our website. I hope you enjoy the new format. Please look for links throughout the magazine to connect with our advertisers and link to PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana. On the last page of the flipbook please take a moment to email us your feedback.

PAN-O-PLY will take a vacation until the summer of 2021. I am the General Manager of the Panera Bread on Ireland Road in South Bend. March 1st we will open our new café, and I will be busy with the details of getting the café running smoothly.

I want to thank Jeremy Vohwinkle for allowing the use of his photograph of the lighthouse at St. Joseph, Michigan. I thank Bagala Kali Barr for allowing us to use her photographs throughout the magazine.

Best wishes

Dan Breen
