June Artist Cheryl Ringler
Growing up in Northern Indiana has made me appreciate and draw inspiration from the rural scenes, the lakes and all the beauty we are steeped in, in and around Syracuse, IN.
I come from a family of artists and crafters, so I think it is in my blood. To me, art is like air. I must have it!
From a young age I have always doodled and dabbled in the arts. Some of my earliest memories are of my Father sketching and painting at his drafting table.
In raising my family, I stepped away from the arts for a number of years and then in 2011 my Father, now 90 years old, passed down his art library to me. Most of the library consisted of books on the art of watercolor. The seed was planted! For the past 10 years I have worked hard at honing my skills in watercolor and recently I have discovered and enjoy doing pen and ink drawings also.
I exhibit and sell my works locally as well as doing commissioned work locally and nationally.
I work from my home studio and most recently I have begun teaching watercolor classes for beginners to share my passion and knowledge with other art enthusiasts and to help promote the arts in my community.
