Replay Social Distance Concert & Dance Party
April 18, 2020 PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana and SoUUNds South Bend held The Social Distance Concert and Dance Party (Nothing To Sneeze At). The Concert benefited the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Nine performers streamed live on Facebook raising over $3000.00 enabling the Food Bank to purchase 15,000 lbs of food. All 9 performances are gathered here at panoplymichiana.com.
Before the beginning of Indiana’s Stay at home orders the reality of what COVID-19 was going to mean to the general working public became apparent in a spiderweb of consequences. I am the General Manager of the Panera Bread in South Bend. I was going through the difficult process of placing people on furlough, reducing our menu offering and preparing to protect the business. As I looked around I began to see how little things were going to add up to reduced work for people. We would use less trash bags so the trash bag sales person would be out of work. We would order fewer vegetables so the people along the food supply chain would have fewer hours and smaller deliveries. Food would be left in storage. We would unlikely build the new Panera across the street, construction workers would be out of work. I began to think about how my business like man would factor in the larger economy. Many restaurants being closed or slower was to have a major impact on workers in the Michiana area. I thought about how the demand on the Food Bank of Northern Indiana would increase significantly.
I thought PAN-O-PLY Story & Art Michiana should hold a concert to benefit the Food Bank. I then thought of Jim Ward of SoUUnds South Bend. You can read about Jim Ward by linking to https://www.panoplymichiana.com/blog/jimwardsouunds. Jim agreed to help me with the project immediately. What began as an idea to have a few bands play grew into 9 performers and a 4 hour concert on April 18, 2020.
The videos of the concert are captured here together. We are thankful to all of the performers who helped raise money for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. We are especially thankful to all who donated and made a gift to those in need possible. I would also like to thank our Tech guy and Sound support by Jim Leap.

Brittany Lee Moffitt
Brittany Lee Moffitt is a songwriter from the Midwest with a captivating, powerful, soul-piercing voice. Moffitt's current EP, "Acceptance" (December 2014), is a wild rollercoaster ride into uninhibited self-examination, tackling anxieties about trust, spiritual growth, and recovery from alcoholism, with vocals that aim for the rafters, manic and serene. Artists like Kimbra, Regina Spektor, or Bjork come to mind, but
Moffitt's sheer energy and sweeping emotional delivery transcend boxing her in solely with other female artists (Jeff Buckley or Mike Patton are also worthy touchstones). Moffitt's musical influences are as worldly as her experience as a touring artist - having performed in Mexico, Canada, Germany, and
Hawaii. Moffitt is currently preparing for her upcoming full-length album release, date TBD.
Purchase 2014 EP
"Acceptance" on iTunes or CDBaby, or stream on Spotify, Soundcloud,
