We Oooo
By Rod Parchman
They sold us to the idea that drama sells, but we didn’t notice how they indulged us and now it’s flying off the shelves from TV shows to videos they know we get hype over beefs and street fights throwing bows while heads bob to these beats they’re right I guess we are the stereo type, because we celebrate tragedy and we show we lack empathy when negativity is something cheered for we oooo like it’s cool or some dude hollers world star! Then we act a fool for views on YouTube so they expect us to spectate but observing the beef is disturbing the peace so we seal our own fate, now I admit that as a kid I often ran to watch the bullshit but things change quick when you see your friend in a box at the pulpit, and we oooo, creating a congregation that crowds around conflict with no hesitation no consideration quick to contradict ourselves and well I think it’s because we love confrontation now the temptation for this drama is getting great so I’m fiending for the next fix, my secret stash is easy to access because it’s screening on Netflix, I even copped a 22 of that news watch cause when dude got shot, his life stopped at 22 and we oooo when the news dropped, now his mother has to bury a son that’s way too young and his brothers will probably pour out brew and blaze a few blunts and his friends will have shirts engraved to show their love, but he’s in a dirt grave and won’t receive none so we have to do better y’all cause we’re way too petty, and stop instigating situations that may be deadly cause when the shit gets violent in a silent night our voices rip through the quiet and its siren like, we oooo, we oooo, we oooo, we oooo, we oooo, we oooo, please, don’t shoot officer I'm just trying to reach my people, and maybe we can stem this violence if we see no evil, but we do, and we oooo.
