Ignorance Is Division

By: Thomas Christensen

A man accepts truth
For as he believes
Through his thought processes

Of private biases and prejudices
And in the mornings
Sees his face in a mirror,

Truth, it stares back,
A long pause,
A long thought,

He thinks about his neighbors
Who are of a different mind
And have different colored faces

And are indifferent to him
As he is to them
A neighbor now for five years

But that time has made no difference
Still he does not know them
Nor do they know him.
